GNU/Linux is not just Ubuntu!Submitted by BooDy on Tue, 2007-07-03 08:51.
This is just too much. I have nothing against ubuntu in fact I'm running ubuntu on my laptop right now but in the past 2 years people have been developing an obsession with Ubuntu crowning Mark Shuttleworth as the king of the new world, they're almost like how Youssef Assad put it before " Yay! Feisty Fawn is out! Who needs God when you got Shuttleworth! (trying to emulate braindead ubuntu freaks)" Now this is a new level of stupidity and idiocy. At first I thought that he'll talk about ubuntu specific issues BUT The brilliant author of the article listed 4 reasons why people don't generally switch to GNU/Linux making Ubuntu the ultimate one and only distro there is out there. I'm not surprised with the low IQ of the author this article indicates but what I find surprising is how the hell did the Free Software Daily publish this and how it make it to the top stories of the week. I'll go write an article about how my toe swells when I wear a tight shoe while using Open Suse, maybe this article will make it to the top too and get my blog some traffic. I think it's time for me to seriously consider moving to another distro.

Used to be Red Hat
Remember when people referred to GNU/Linux as Red Hat, 3adi...
People tend to be stupid and make idols, they can't imagine the GNU/Linux concept, so they need a box to worship, reminds me of many examples, not only in IT world...
N.B. when you try to teach people to be smarter, they ALWAYS try to come up with something stupid to circumvent any smart solution, therefore rendering you stupid and proving your humanity
huh ?
I come from digg.com ... WTF man .. GNU/Linux IS Ubuntu .. isn't it ?!
sure it is remember : if it
sure it is
remember : if it works, don't fix it :P
I think the community of
I think the community of fsdaily voted it up to point out the ignorance. All you have to do is read the comments on the article in fsdaily and you'll see what I mean.
No Offense, But Ubuntu Is
No Offense, But Ubuntu Is The Only Distro I Liked, In 2003 I started the linux addiction when a friend introduced me to a Red Hat version, I was trying to build up my server for a hosting website that failed because of Internet speed in egypt then
But i liked it on my PC, that was kinda old back then"which is history right now"
the ram was 16mb P3 i dont even know the clock speed
and the only OS that worked on it was windows me
XP was a total failure even when it was fresh
so i installed Red hat, stable, fast, lack of look as i call it, and i missed my windows games, so i ran multi-systems
i tried different from 2004 to 2009 distros "Fedora, OpenSuse, Debian, Mandriva, Gentoo, FreeBSD, etc"
it's hard to mark a difference in the interface like we always do in windows and mac as long as they all use KDE or Gnome, so i have to look to the performance,
they all run perfectly on your pc, fast, secure and stable
so now we are looking for the support
lets be serious
on linux you will always get the support you need
whatever your distro is
each distro of those listed above has a quite big online community that delivers support TO novices
now you can only find the truth in the hardware support
Ubuntu is the king in that
it recognizes every single piece
most of linux distrs do
but Ubuntu is best at that field
i cant remember more comparisons
if you have
post them as a topic based on me reply
